Shackerley’s SureClad® and BrickClad® façade systems have both been recognised by the Façade Awards, with two of our projects being named as finalists in the 2026 shortlist. In the ‘Best use of a Rainscreen using Glass Ceramic or Stone’ category, our SureClad® Porcelain Stone façade system has been recognised for the Hertfordshire Police HQ building in Welwyn Garden City, where it was installed as part of £55.5m project.

Shackerley’s BrickClad® mechanically fixed brick cladding system has been used as part of the transformation of Eircom’s former Brutalist office building in Dublin, creating Western Europe’s first ever Hilton Home2 Suites hotel. The eight-storey former Telephone House building on Marlborough Street has been reimagined as a 290-room hotel with a 1,127m2 BrickClad® façade in a 215 x 65 x 25mm beige-coloured brick from our extensive ‘Saxony’ BrickClad® range.

Shackerley has supplied a complex SureClad® façade involving three different materials, c.6000 pieces, and a range of bespoke details, including fins milled from a solid block of SureStone®. The 2000m2 SureClad® façade is part of a £132 million refurbishment and extension of an art deco department store building on London’s Oxford Street.

The specification called for a lightweight façade system suitable for use on the external facades of the retail shell unit, within the main shopping centre building.

Shackerley’s BrickClad® mechanically fixed brick cladding system has been used to create the façade of a new £14m leisure centre facility in Shropshire. Our BBA-certified brick façade system has been used to create a striking brick feature wall for a 255m2 area of the new Whitchurch Swimming and Fitness Centre, as part of a Kingspan project. The installation has seen the BrickClad® Magnelis® steel rails fixed directly to the Kingspan Quadcore Karrier panel; an installation method that has been CWCT certified as a suitable façade build-up for projects where Kingspan insulation panels and the Shackerley BrickClad® brick cladding system are used in combination.

Shackerley’s SureClad® façade system has once again been recognised in the annual Façade Awards, with the £45 million Animate Preston project being named as the winner of the Best use of a Rainscreen using Glass, Ceramics or Stone. The Façade Awards 2025 were held at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on November 7th and Shackerley was named alongside Lester Cladding North West as delivery partners for the prestigious project, which has created a new leisure destination in Preston, including an eight-screen cinema, a 16-lane bowling alley, and five restaurants.

Prominently positioned on the junction with Upper Berkeley Street, 68-74 Edgeware Road sits at the gateway into The Portman Estate, in the heart of the West End. The refurbishment of the ground and first floor facades updates and enhances the property at street level, while remaining in-keeping with the building’s original design and the architecture of surrounding properties.

BrickClad® tested with Siderise Firestopping

The Shackerley BrickClad® system has successfully passed fire resistance tests demonstrating the performance of our A-rated mechanically fixed brick façades in combination with Siderise firestopping. We partnered with Siderise for the tests, which were carried out at the company’s Siderise Innovation Centre under strict test conditions. Full datasets are now available to evidence the performance of both the firestopping and the façade system when used in combination during 90-minute tests.

Every piece of every facade that we fully prefabricate as installation-ready panels a our ISO 900 certified Summit factory in Lancashire goes through a rigorous quality control process and here is just a snapshot of a pallet going through quality control. This pallet has a combination of XXL l.3m x 1.2 m SureClad® porcelain stone panels, and smaller façade panels, all made to order in our quality assured factory conditions.

Shackerley’s BrickClad® mechanically fixed brick cladding system has provided an ideal solution for a self-storage unit in Hackney, used in combination with Kingspan Quadcore Karrier panels. The project in the Lea Bridge area of the London Borough is for Safestore, the UK’s largest provider of self-storage facilities. It has leveraged the cost and efficiency benefits of fixing the BrickClad® Magnelis® support rails directly to the Kingspan Quadcore Karrier panels.

Shackerley’s BrickClad® goes green at Vaux Brewery site

Shackerley is supplying our BrickClad® mechanically fixed brick cladding system for the redevelopment of the former Vaux Brewery site in Sunderland, including bespoke green glazed BrickClad® bricks that have been specially produced for the project. Founded in 1806, Vaux Brewery brewed beers including Sunderland Best Bitter for almost 200 years before the facility closed in the early 2000s, and the site is an important part of the city’s heritage. It is now being redeveloped as the ‘Vaux housing neighbourhood’ by Sunderland City Council as part of the ambitious Riverside Sunderland regeneration masterplan.
